Hippie Quackery vs. Science

Posted in Health,New Age by Administrator on the July 20th, 2010

I just got an e-mail calling some of the “treatments” that I list for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as quackery: “what kind of list of treatments is that? those aren’t treatments, that’s all hippie quackery. I believe in science.”

And this science-believer is still sick and searching for answers. It would be nice if “science” could provide the answers that she seeks (I’m assuming a she.)

But our current medical science only believes in profitable treatments. Even the medical doctors who are treating chronic fatigue syndrome are trying to use science to heal something that is partly emotional and spiritual. Pump the patients full of expensive supplements and maybe they’ll get better… Use all the expensive standard medical tests…. maybe something will show up.

I recently met a woman who has had CFS for years. I asked her what she tried. She was even tired of the question.

“Everything”, she said.

“Detoxing?”

“I’ve detoxed and detoxed.”

“Do you have any emotional issues?”

“I’ve used emotional freedom technique, the tapping. I’m happy.”

“Hmmm, well, some people could be affected by spirochetes… it also can be related to fear of the future.”

BINGO! At that point she said she was terrified of the future and she just really wanted to die, right now!

If you have a death wish, your body will co-operate.

We are mind, body, AND spirit. All need to be healthy.
