And now, my thyroid….

Posted in Health by Administrator on the July 24th, 2010

Had my regular appointment… thyroid… parasites… hypothyroid… tricky to clear up… symptoms fit with sleep problems. Forget detoxing for now until we clear up the thyroid.

Well, I knew I had some parasites but the ones that he came up with are the regular types.

I am also not interested in a slow treatment. I don’t want a huge healing reaction but gotta be a way not to crawl along.

First, read about parasites and thyroid.

Above is a really good article on mercury (mainly dental mercury) and thyroid. Mercury blocks the thyroid from absorbing enough iodine which causes abnormal low body temperature. (Yes! I have had that!) Used zapping to kill parasites that are attracted to the mercury. And I own two zappers. (Look up Hulda Clark zapper if you are unfamiliar with zappers.) I pulled out my Terminator zapper and made an elastic holder with swimsuit hooks so I can hook it to my waistband so it doesn’t accidentally slide off.

“Along with low thyroid, I often see other hormone imbalances of the adrenal glands (adrenalin, DHEA and cortisol), imbalances of sex steroid hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and DHEA), and insulin resistance. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies are common and can be both the cause and effect of low thyroid function. Toxicities of heavy metals such as mercury and cadmium can affect thyroid function, and low thyroid can predispose to infections of candida (yeast) and other bad bacteria and parasites.”

That all fits me, too. One reason I do not go to mainstream medicine is they would check for thyroid hormones and instead of treating the cause of the hormones being off, they would want to supplement with synthetic hormones… bio-identical ones would work ok but it still doesn’t fix the problem! So I will continue to detox and not just work on killing the critters.

“Last month I started feeling really tired and could hardly keep my eyes open past 8:30! I didn’t know what was wrong with me so I did some research and found that felling groggy along with other symptoms I had (feeling cold all the time, hair falling out, dry skin, fluid retention, failing memory, acne and of course difficulty losing weight) were all pointing to hypothyroidism – or a slow thyroid….

“Needless to say I decided to get a second opinion and set up an appointment with a naturopathic doctor. I showed him my research and he tested me. He said that it did seem like I had a sluggish thyroid and that I have an issue with parasites. He gave me a few remedies to try and I coupled that with a few things my mother had me try.

“It’s been a few weeks and I feel great! My stress level is down, my sleeping patterns have gone back to normal, I can tolerate cold a little bit more. I am not completely recovered, but I know I’m well on my way. I ready to start a new exercise routine again and I think this will give me a jumping platform to my road to weight loss.”

“Are you hypo/hyper thyroid? I am both and just started on Lugol’s solution which is suppose to balance both hypo and hyper thyroid problems.browse on the Iodine thread. There are some posts about Lugols and candida with some success stories:)”

Hmmm, I’ve been taking chlorella and a natural iodine supplement… will continue with both. Chlorella helps with detoxing heavy metals….

Hypothyroidism – Natural Remedies
Author: Edward F. Group III, D.C., Ph.D, N.D.,CCN
In order to control or keep this condition from occurring, you need to keep a sustain attack everyday. This involves a diet that includes foods that enhance thyroid function, such as whole grains, raw seeds, prunes, apricots, potatoes, dates, apricots, egg yolks, molasses and parsley. Limit consumption of broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, mustard greens, peaches, pears, radishes, spinach and turnips because these foods suppress thyroid function. [Well, I'm not going to avoid these foods....] Avoid processed and refined foods, like white flour and sugar.

Drink only steam-distilled water. [I will try to keep sprouts going to make the water more fit to drink. Distilled water.... no....] Commit to a moderate exercise program, like walking or yoga. Avoid fluoride and chlorine because these substances tend to block iodine receptors in the thyroid gland. Do not take sulfa drugs or antihistamines unless directed to do so by a doctor.

Beneficial Dietary Supplements
There are even supplements you can take that will help. These include:
Kelp contains iodine, the basic substance of thyroid hormone.
L-Tyrosine increases plasma levels and aids weight loss.
Zinc stimulates the immune system.
Spirulina has beneficial nutrients for overall health, with natural proteins, minerals, and herbs to help with weight loss.
Vitamin B-Complex improves cellular oxygenation and energy, helps with digestion, immune and thyroid function.
Essential Fatty Acids, such as primrose oil, are important for proper thyroid function.
Bladderwrack may be beneficial for under active thyroid conditions.
Bayberry, Black Cohosh and Goldenseal can aid thyroid function.
Herbal Bitters may help alleviate the symptoms of hypothyroidism.
Coconut Oil may benefit Hypothyroid problems and assist with weight loss.

Really good discussion about MMS. I have some and have only used it when I felt I was coming down with something. I also needed to do enough research on it. I believe it is one of the safest things I can take to help eliminate parasites, bacteria, etc. Decided it is best to take smaller doses more often rather than work up to a big dose of the stuff.

“Be sure to check out Jims website for the new gentler and powerful mms protocol. Almost all these testimonials are done with the old protocol that can be a little harsh. Go to www.jimhumble.biz and take a look.

So… my strategy for this next week:

Continue to detoxify: chlorella and cilantro or detox drops
Continue iodine supplement
Zapper treatments
MMS frequently
Plus the clove/wormwood etc Standard Process product
